"In His name the nations will put their hope." Matthew
12:21
What a glorious
season is upon us! What a privilege to begin the season with Thanksgiving,
enter adoration and awe of our Savior at Christmas, and then begin
a fresh, crisp start of a new year! Sometimes we look around at the
"condition" of our world and may be tempted to feel "uncertain,"
but we need not be discouraged or afraid. We know the King ~ the King
of all kings! We have the honor of celebrating Him, as His family!
He knows our names and He will provide for our needs with the care
of a Father. We can have joy, confidence, and peace. Rejoice and celebrate
Jesus!
Girls Volleyball
ROCKS at PVCS
With the excellent coaching of our awesome coaches, Mrs. Bender (7/8),
Mrs. McCarthy and Mr. Bartley (5/6 A), and Mrs. Williams and Miss
Sam (5/6 B), our PV girls volleyball teams soared to victories in
the Tri Valley Christian League! Our B team finished a strong third
place overall and amazed everyone with their "growing skills".
The A team beat
the "powerhouse" Missionary team to win the first place
trophy in league and playoffs. They were undefeated the whole season
and became known as "the team to beat!"
The older girls
dominated Hillcrest in the final playoff game. They, too, won league
and playoffs. Crowds were stunned by the level of volleyball our girls
have achieved. Thanks to outstanding coaching, our school has gained
quite a standing in volleyball. We currently have many graduates of
PVCS playing high school volleyball.
Thanks again
for an exciting season!
Flag
Football Team Makes Playoffs
The PVCS flag football team, under Head Coach Topp and assistant coaches
Rebbe and Henmi, ended their season tied for third place and grabbed
a spot in playoffs. Though small in the number of players, the team's
fan base was larger than most of the schools. Every player contributed
to the enthusiasm and fun provided by this quality group of young
men! Great job! Congratulations!
Teacher
Brunch
Such a Treat!
Our staff wants to thank all the parents who helped provide an amazing
brunch for the grade school and preschool. Parents from the preschool
were very generous with their contributions. Special thanks to Lisa
Staben and Roddi Villa for organizing the lovely surprise.
Scripture
Wall Update
We are almost ready to begin the permanent Scripture Wall by the gym.
The church has approved adding family names to the tiles if desired.
What a wonderful tribute, for years to come, to see a family honoring
God's Word and sharing a family verse. If you are interested, be sure
to submit your request by the closing date. Carefully read the packet
provided for you by PIE.
Christmas Celebration Evening
Come and receive a "heart warmer" as our preschool and school
present a beautiful Christmas celebration on Tuesday, December 9 at
7:00 p.m. in the worship center. Family, friends and guests are invited
to join this special evening.
Operation
Christmas Child Shoeboxes
Thank you to everyone who donated shoeboxes to Operation Christmas
Child. We came very close to making our goal. The school brought in
87 boxes! These gifts will be precious to those who receive them.
Thank you!
Sally
Foster Fundraiser
Thank you to PIE and to everyone who participated in the Sally Foster
fundraiser. We raised over $9,000.00!
