Gym
Renovation
Pleasant Valley Bible Church, Pleasant Valley Christian School,
and your P.I.E. Board are jointly venturing to renovate and
restore the existing school gym.
We are starting with a new floor composed of wood that is resistant
to scratching. The manufacturer of the flooring has rehabilitated
many college gyms as well as sports arenas. An important feature
of our new floor will be its ability to ease shock on developing
joints. The ceiling is also in for a major restoration, along
with soundproofing for the entire gym. Finally, the entrance
to the gym will be home to the new P.V.C.S. Scripture Wall.
The renovated gym will be versatile enough to switch from volleyball
to basketball, general student assemblies, and much, much more.
With growing obesity in children and an increasing lack of emphasis
on health and community in our society, the improvements to
our gym will help provide our children with an excellent opportunity
learn the importance of a healthy body and exercise. This will
create a wonderful new area for learning and fun.
Please join the P.I.E. Board with this exciting venture by participating
in our fundraisers. Your continued support is what creates such
a special and unique environment at PVCS. Thank you!
Career Day Success
What a wonderful learning experience this day was. Once again
Career Day was a hit! The P.I.E. Board and students would like
to send a big "Thank You" to all the wonderful volunteers
and speakers. Without these individuals this day would have
not motivated all these young minds. Thank You!
Day with an Artist
The P.I.E. board will be starting the new year with a wonderful
new line up for Day with an Artist! We have scheduled a composer
by the name of David Earle to come and share with us about music.
He lives and works in the Bay area, where his career as a composer
has allowed him to work on numerous projects with television
and film. He can't wait to work with our children here at P.V.C.S.

Day with an Author
This February we will have the pleasure of welcoming Renee Meloche
to our school. She will be visiting us from Michigan to share
her interesting life and passion for writing. Her books tell true
stories that inspire children. She comes from a Christian background
and grew up as a missionary. As we get nearer to her visit, you
will have the opportunity to purchase some of her books. Look
for more details in February!
Innisbrook
We have finished our first fundraiser of the year and the
results were close to last year's. The K-8's earnings were approximately
$6865.00, which will be used to help with our gym renovation project
and our teacher gifting. The board would like thank Parris Stevens
again and all the volunteers that helped to run this fundraiser.
See's
Candies
Our holiday fundraiser this year is See's Candies. We will
be offering three different See's programs. We hope that we might
encourage families as well as corporate orders with this fundraiser.
BoxTops
We have had our first contest of the year and we earned
$360.00. Way to go P.V.C.S.; what a lot of clipping! Our next
contest will be in the spring, so please keep up the good work.
Special thanks to Amy McDade for running this!

Thank you to all the families who donated items to the Red Cross
for the fire victims of San Diego. It was wonderful to receive
so much help with this quick two day project. God bless all of
you that helped.
Thank you to Mrs. Moss for her fun and interesting talk at our
November meeting. Not only did we learn about some of the special
ways she teaches and motivates our 5th graders, but we also learned
about developmental characteristics of kids at that age. What
a treat!
